Medical Certification (Section 280.160)
Customers with qualified medical conditions cannot have their service disconnected for non payment for at least 60 days in order to be able to pay past due amounts.
After initial notification by a licensed physician or local board of health (Certified Party) of the medical condition is made to us by phone, customers have seven days to provide the medical certificate completed by a Certified Party. A valid medical certificate allows the customer to enter into a medical payment arrangement, regardless of failure of any previous arrangements.
