Make Your Home a Healthy Home
The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program, American Lung Association and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois are working together to offer energy services and health and safety improvements at no cost to qualifying homeowners. The Healthy Homes offering provides services and improvements to help lower your energy bills, improve respiratory health and improve the overall comfort and safety of your home.
Healthy Homes Assessments
Our teams start by completing assessments of your home to identify opportunities to help you save money and energy and create a healthier environment for you and your family.
The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program and the American Lung Association are each providing their own free assessment.
- The Nicor Gas assessment will be conducted in person.
- The American Lung Association assessment will be held virtually.
- Each assessment will take between one to two hours.
The Healthy Homes team will help you schedule each of these appointments.
Free Products and Services
Based on the needs of your home, you may receive no cost products and services to improve the air quality of your home and save you money on your energy bills such as:
- Free energy-saving products
- Air sealing and attic insulation
- Furnace repairs and other mechanical improvements
- Green cleaning products
- Dust cloths and mops
- HEPA vacuum cleaners
- Air purifiers
- More!
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this offering, you must be a Nicor Gas customer at or below 80% area median income (AMI). Renters are eligible to participate with property owner's written permission.
