FREE energy efficiency assessments for multi-family buildings
The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program and the ComEd® Energy Efficiency Program can help you discover money and energy-saving opportunities with a FREE energy assessment. Multi-family energy assessments are available for owners and property managers of multi-family rental properties with three units or more only.
An Energy Advisor will perform an assessment to collect information about your property’s energy use. You will receive free energy-saving products and a report detailing additional opportunities to save at your property.
Free products and services may include:
- Programmable or smart thermostats
- WaterSense® certified showerheads and faucet aerators
- Incentives for boiler replacements and other HVAC upgrades
Get rebates for qualifying improvements

Central plant optimization
If your multi-family property has shared hot water or space heating, you may be eligible for specialized rebates on eligible equipment and improvements. Eligible rebates include improvements for:
- Steam traps
- Boilers
- Water heaters

Multi-family weatherization improvements
