About Us

The Nicor Gas Community Relations and Economic Development (CRED) team members serve as liaisons between the company and leaders in more than 650 communities throughout our service territory that spans approximately 17,000 square miles over the northern third of the state of Illinois.

The CRED team establishes and maintains relationships with mayors and village presidents, city and village managers, fire chiefs, economic development leaders, finance directors and public works directors. CRED team members also have the privilege of serving as Nicor Gas representatives on nonprofit boards, chambers of commerce and economic development organizations, in support of Nicor Gas’ commitment to invest in programs and initiatives that invigorate the economy, enrich the community, enhance diversity, promote education and a skilled workforce, and support environmental stewardship.

Services Offered to Our Communities

The CRED team is ready to provide assistance to its community partners. Don’t hesitate to contact your community relations
manager to discuss any of the following topics, just to name a few:

  • Infrastructure projects in your community
  • Fire department safety presentations
  • Energy efficiency offerings
  • Economic development leads
  • No cost municipal utility tax implementation, audit, and remittance assistance
  • Annexation and franchise agreement assistance

Important Message Regarding Utility Scams

Nicor Gas is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our customers and employees. While it is often easy to identify Nicor Gas workers at a construction or work site, you may also see meter readers, leak surveyors, and other employees in your neighborhood as part of our normal course of business.
