Nicor Gas employees sort over 40,000 pounds of food during annual Volunteer Week

Volunteering allows our employees to serve the community and build relationships with those we provide service to.

During Nicor Gas’ 28th Annual Volunteer Week, held each year in May, employees volunteered at food pantries including the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry, Ottawa Community Food Basket and Loaves and Fishes.

This year, over 40,000 pounds of food was sorted and packaged at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The food is distributed to those living in Nicor Gas’ Northern Illinois service territory.
