Nicor Gas receives Corporate Leadership Award from United Way

Nicor Gas has been recognized with United Way’s Corporate Leadership Award for its longstanding commitment to create thriving communities across the region. The Corporate Leadership Award is presented to companies that exhibit exceptional dedication to social responsibility and community involvement. This award is a testament to Nicor Gas’ investment in its customers, employees and communities.

Nicor Gas has distinguished itself through its comprehensive support of United Way's initiatives, which focus on closing gaps and opening opportunities in health, education and economic mobility. Most recently, the Nicor Gas Foundation committed $1 million over four years to launch the Elgin Neighborhood Network and support workforce development and capacity building programs in United Way’s South Suburban Networks.

Nicor Gas has ranked among United Way’s top 25 corporate partners for the past 15 years. During that time, the company has contributed more than $17 million dollars to United Way, supporting the Neighborhood Networks and the United Neighborhoods Equity Fund – key investments in advancing economic equity and strengthening communities.

In addition to investing dollars, Nicor Gas employees also give their time to United Way through volunteer activities and serve on various United Way’s advisory boards.
