Community Assistance Navigator

The Community Assistance Navigator (CAN) is a free online portal where you can find recommendations that best meet your needs. By answering a few anonymous questions, you can learn about available assistance options and how to connect with them.

The Energy Aid Program is currently closed and will reopen on August 1, 2025.

Shiled of Caring is no longer accepting applications for 2025.

The following Community Action Agencies are currently out of funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): CEDA, Champaign County, Community Action Partnership of Central IL, East Central Illinois Community Action, Kankakee County, Project NOW, Tazwood, Kendall-Grundy County and Will County. You can still apply online for a 5% total bill discount by visiting nicorgas.com/LIDP or by calling 888.642.6748.
